Dollars vs Decisions.

A problem i’ve thought about every time i come home with a card or two filled with images. What to do with the overflow of images i cannot use right away, or are unusable all together. They fill up hard drives, both internal and external. If not needed now, will they be needed tomorrow (or next year). If totally useless, do i put them to death forever. Instant, brief existence, then death. At the time of writing this i keep everything. Empting all contents of cards onto hard drives, and backing up on a mirror drive. Always two copies of everything. But as the cameras i own get sizable and the megapixels and shutter speeds are growing, i am thinking of other ways to deal with it all. It all comes down to dollars vs decisions. Spend the dollars on backup systems, or make decisions on what to keep and what to cull. I read this artical on the Assignment-Chicago page, and it kind of made sense. I have to change the ways i’ve gone so far. I have to learn to like deleting. It has to be done. I might start tomorrow.
